Once, a quarter of eastern woodlands was made up of the American Chestnut tree. These majestic giants grew up to 100 feet tall and 5 feet in diameter. Their straight trunks made strong and rot resistant lumber, often used to make split rail fences.
A blight destroyed the American Chestnut, and they were completely gone by 1950.
Walnut Hill Crafts came across a cache of old split rail fences made from chestnut. They have created lovely objects from this recycled wood. Here we offer a 3 piece candleholder set.
Staggered heights range from 2 to 6 inches, width 2 to 4 inches. Natural wood imperfections make each set unique.
Recycled American Chestnut, polyurethane finish, metal candle cups, story card included.
Sold as a 3 piece set only. Candles not included.
